Nov 06, 2021 There is no specification name plate on the HF Dust Collector motor but there is a 14Amp sticker below the filter clamp. The Rikon literature shows a 16 Amp rating on their DC which, other than the 12 inch diameter fan and possibly the motor, appears identical to the HF dust collector. My stock HF runs between 10Amp and 13.5Amp

My modifications to the Harbor Freight Dust Collector. Photo 1 shows the DC end with the Wynn filter mounted on top and the plastic bag below. This is not the filter in the Wynn kit today. When I did mine, there was no kit available, so I just chose a filter with .5 micron filtration and made a plate that fit it to the DC. I chose a filter
Mar 24, 2019 After spending the time and money to modify mine, I wish I would have just sucked it up and bought a factory system with the same features. When you figure: ~$150 HF dust collector. ~$150 Super dust deputy. ~$200 Wynn filter. ~$100 impeller upgrade
Mar 11, 2016 Currently I have the 2hp harbor freight dust collector and I have been moving it around to any machine I need to use. But I want to go ahead and install ducts and have a more permanent setup. While lots of people modify the harbor freight dust collector, what is less clear is if it is worth it
Feb 01, 2018 I'm looking to get a canister filter for my HF dust collector. I've searched here and read a lot of threads about using the Wynn 35A and 35BA canisters. But those same threads say that the Wynn filters are a PITA to clean. Has anyone used a Grizzly T23129 canister on a HF DC. I like the Grizzly

Jay, thanks for the inspiration. I reconfigured my HF dust collector this weekend and it works great. I had always planned on doing something similar, but hadn’t thought of using the bag ring as the separator. I had a plastic barrel that i used on bottom. It had the same diameter as the bag ring so I could attach the baffle inside the bag
Apr 01, 2009 Hot Rodding a Harbor Freight Dust Collector. In the spring of 2007 I purchased the Harbor Freight 2hp dust collector. Based on what I’ve read on various forums, this is one of those HF tools that is worth owning, especially with a few modifications. The day after I got the DC, I ordered the filter cartridge kit from Wynn Environmental
Apr 10, 2011 The 120 degree 19 diameter area was just eyeballed to be centered over the inlet. This mod will probably work for all HF, Jet and Grizzly dust collectors. My filters were clogged far too quickly previously and it remains to be seen how effective this mod
Aug 11, 2017 Larger Impeller for Harbor Freight Dust Collector. I have read a few articles/posts online about adding a larger impeller to a Harbor Freight dust collector. The larger impeller pulls more air flow and increases the performance. The impeller is from a Rikon dust collector. The part number is P60-200-22 and was ~$120

Feb 02, 2014 The Harbor Freight is rated at 2 HP, but we all know how accurate HP ratings are. I have heard that the impeller size on the HP version is smaller than other dust collectors, and I am sure that greatly effect CFM. I have a VERY small shop. But my planer, jointer, and bandsaw don't really move
May 18, 2016 Brand: HF + Grizzly + Wynn | Category: Dust Collection Ok First if you have not bought a dust collector do not do this project instead go ahead and buy the biggest cyclone system you can afford because if you are like me your tools will grow and you collector will become too small
Mar 31, 2020 Consequently, how loud is Harbor Freight dust collector? about 80db . One may also ask, how do you reduce dust collector noise? Lining the inside of the enclosure with rigid foamboard or “egg-crate” acoustic foam will further deaden noise. But remember, walling off a noisy dust collector also puts the chip bin out of sight, so don't forget to check the fill level frequently

Dec 16, 2016 Dust collection is such an important tool in a wood shop and it often gets overlooked as it is not a fun tool to spend the money on or to set up.
